The Burnsville Forestry Department is responsible for maintaining trees within City parks and along boulevard right-of-ways.
Forestry staff are tree care professionals with ISA Arborist Certification, membership in the Minnesota Society of Arboriculture, and Minnesota Tree Inspector Certification.
Any company that you hire to do tree work must have a tree contractor license from the City. The list of currently licensed tree contractors (PDF) also notes companies that have a Minnesota Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License. This list is provided for educational purposes only to indicate contractors licensed in Burnsville. The City does not guarantee pricing or work and we encourage residents to research any company prior to entering a contract or agreement.
Ash trees are at risk due to the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) insect. Property owners should decide now what to do with their ash trees on their private property. If you want to protect your ash tree from EAB, you can take advantage of the City contract pricing from Rainbow Tree Care. To learn more, call Rainbow Tree Care at 952-767-6920.
Learn more about EAB on our Emerald Ash Borer Information web page.
