Night to Unite (known as National Night Out in some communities) is held on the first Tuesday in August.
The event is a chance to strengthen neighborhood spirit and City-community partnerships. It can also heighten awareness around crime, drug and violence prevention; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Residents and businesses can register their Night to Unite parties now through Friday, July 26.
Registered parties can receive handouts to give to participants, and can request a visit from a Burnsville Police, Fire, City staff member or elected official. The Burnsville Fire Department and Mobile Volunteer Network will host a limited number of short trainings in compression-only CPR at parties by request.
All parties registered by Saturday, July 13 will be entered in a drawing to win prizes including:
Prizes sponsored by Outback Steakhouse, Cub Foods, Home Depot and Thomson Reuters.
