Minnesota River Quadrant (MRQ) Improvements

Project Overview

This project will replace two roads and construct a new off-street commuter way which will fill a gap in for the City's trail network.

  • Construction of a new off-street bituminous (asphalt) multi-use trail along 126th Street and Dupont Avenue from Kenwood Trail (CR 5) to the Union Pacific Railroad.
  • Reconstruction of Dupont Avenue from the TH 13 frontage road to 126th Street
    • Removal and replacement of existing street/underlying roadbed
    • Removal and replacement of all concrete curb and gutter
    • Minor utility work
  • Reclamation of Oliver Avenue between TH 13 frontage road and the Apple Valley Ready Mix plant
    • Grinding up the existing roadway and underlying aggregate to create a new roadway base material and then new bituminous pavement
    • Partial replacement of concrete curb and gutter
    • Reconstruction/reconfiguration of the Oliver Ave intersection near the entrance to 
      AVR Inc.
    • Minor utility work
