Burnsville Parks & Recreation System Master Plan
The City of Burnsville's current Parks System Master Plan was developed and adopted in 2000. The plan established a vision for the park system - including maintenance, renovation and enhancements for the next 15-20 years.
Highlights
The plan concluded that the park system is essentially complete in terms of acreage and basic facilities. The needs of the park system identified by the community were primarily in the areas related to quality versus quantity of parks and facilities.
Update
The City, along with project consultants Confluence are in the process of updating the Parks & Recreation System Master Plan. The updated plan will be a practical tool to guide the park system's development/redevelopment for another 15-20 years. It will help the community prioritize programs and projects as decisions are made about how to utilize limited resources.
