2023 Programs


Kids Participating in Youth ProgramCamp Explore: Camp Explore offers flexible weekly programs that are more structured than its free-play counterpart -- Kids of Summer. Choose from weekly camp themes that interest you and sign up for half days, full days, weekly or for the whole summer!

Kids of Summer and Little Tykes: Kids of Summer (KOS) and Little Tykes are playground programs involving games, sports, arts and crafts, water games, special events and an end-of-summer picnic. Programs are available for ages 4 to 12. Passes can be purchased for the summer, week or day.

Golf: Junior golf leagues and tournaments are available at Birnamwood Golf Course.

Soccer: Footwork and fundamentals are taught through instructional drills and exercises. Multiple sessions and times are available. Ages 2 to 10.

Skateboarding Camps and Clinics: A variety of classes are available for young skateboarders. These hands-on lessons are held at the Burnsville Skate Park.

Tennis: Lessons are available for kids interested in tennis. Lessons are offered in multiple sessions and times.

Thursday Rockin' Readers and Rockin' Lunch Hour: Join ISD 191's elementary principals, teachers and staff as they read some great stories geared towards preschool and elementary aged children. Afterwards, have a blast singing and dancing along at our mini concert series, Rockin' Lunch Hour. 

Halloween Fest: Treats, stories, face painting and costumed characters are a part of this family-friendly event held in October.

Register online or call the Recreation Department at 952-895-4500. Many of these programs fill quickly so register early! Registration for summer youth programs opens March 10.
